International students have a different experience when it comes to finding jobs. Sponsorship can be uncertain, interview styles can feel unfamiliar and most job boards do not really account for that.
MuchoMundo was our idea to help with this at the Microsoft Embrace x Midlands Regional Hackathon.
We focused on two main things. The first was a filter that ranks jobs by how likely they are to offer visa sponsorship, helping students avoid wasting time on applications that were unlikely to work out. The second was an interview chatbot that adapts to different cultural backgrounds, because answering “tell me about yourself” can feel very different depending on what you are used to.
We built and pitched the whole thing to judges in just one day and finished in the top 4.
