Aakriti Agarwal
Hi! I am a CS student who likes building things slightly beyond what I actually know how to build.
I write blogs and TILs here to keep learning, finish things I start and justify falling down a rabbit hole every time I encounter a weird technical word I probably should know.
Who I am
- Studying: 2nd year Computer Science student at University of Nottingham
- On campus: IT Service Desk assistant doing network troubleshooting and support, also mentoring Computer Science freshers
- Committee: Speaker Acquisition Secretary at HackSoc, EDI Officer at Women in CS and Welfare Officer at CompSoc
- Open source: PRs merged in ROOST’s Coop and npmx. Read the Coop story, npmx’s is still brewing ☕
- I build with: Python, Flask, SQLAlchemy, JavaScript, Leaflet, HTML/CSS, git and vim
Right now 🌱
- Exploring open source, self-hosting and discovering new ways to make my own servers unnecessarily complicated
- On a hunt for 2027 industrial placement / summer internship. Please hire me before I start talking to my homelab instead
- Surviving uni (somehow)
Latest
- blog My First Open Source Contribution: Renaming a Tab in Coop I renamed one settings tab and somehow it took 7 commits, 10 files and a lot of overthinking.
- til A theme can build its whole palette from one colour One accent colour, a whole theme.
- til I Switched from Docker Desktop to OrbStack Trying to run a multi container stack on 8GB of RAM and somehow making it work
- til XSS is way simpler (and scarier) than I thought One careless innerHTML and your page runs someone else's code.
